This guide will help explain how to register your name and set up auto identify on mIRC.

Mirc:

Why we need you to Register:
This is necessary for two reasons. One registering your nick/RSN (runescape name) will secure your nick/RSN for your use only. It also lets staff know you are a Spirit member that has been verified and has access to our clan channel #spirit. Without registering you will not get voiced or receive access to that channel.

Register:
To register your name:
1. Choose a password. Do not use your RuneScape password or any other important password, but use one you will easily remember.
2. Use your valid e-mail address. The reason for this is you will be sent an e-mail containing a confirmation code that you will need to finish the registration.
3. Now in an active channel you type --> /ns register password password e-mail e-mail <-- this is a command, so choose a password and type it where it says password twice, then type your email address where is says email twice.
*An example for instance if I were to register my nick/RSN I would type: --> /ns register imanoob imanoob host@email.com host@email.com <--

*NOTE your name can’t start with a number, if it does simply put either an underscore _ or brackets around your name [ ]. When you’ve typed this command correctly you will be sent an e-mail containing a confirmation code. It will come within seconds of typing the command, so go check your email and follow the instructions . It will tell you to type --> /msg nickserv confirm EmailCodeHere <-- After this you have officially registered your nickname. If you don't see an email right away, you should check your junk email folder, sometimes it will accidentally be diverted to that folder.

Identify:
Every time you log onto mIRC you must identify to the IRC server. To identify, you make sure you are on the nick you registered with. To change to that nick you would type in the active channel --> /nick YourRSNHere <--
Then you type in the active channel --> /ns identify YourPassHere <--
This confirms that you are the true owner of that nickname.

• You can set MIRC to auto Identify you by following these steps:
1. Open MIRC, at the top go to ‘ options’ (hammer Icon).

2. You will see the word ‘connect’ at the top, click the small + next to the word connect which opens a drop down
menu. Now select ‘Options’, on the bottom you will see a button called ‘Preform’ click on that.

3. At the very top of there will be a box labeled ‘Enable perform on connect’, make sure this box has a checkmark in it.
Next under the Perform commands, type in the box, /ns identify YourPassGoesHere, I used my example password
of imanoob then click ok. Now every time you log onto MIRC it will identify for you.
