Ok so I don't even know what IRC is to be honest. I know where to enter the channel or whatever on sk, but i dont know how it works or how to view world changes on it. Just a little confused about it all. An explanation of it all would be awesome. Thanks. |

well what happens is a load of messages come up saying that you have been logged out and a new world has been set, just type !login then !w and it will give you the world. if you have just logged in type !login and then !w as soon as you join hope this helps (: |

If you need any IRC help connect to swiftirc to the channel #spiritus. Quick run down if your nick is register with swift and you have access to #spiritus id with the server /ns id passhere then /join #spirit, that will get you into our main channel. Once in the main channel type !login then !w to beable to access the pestcontrol world, the bot notice spam the world at every hop so people dont miss it. |

Here's an easy step by step on how to get on irc. Go to www.swiftkit.net and download the version for your area. If you are in the United States, Canada or Mexico, Download the US version. If you are in Europe or Finland or Australia or anywhere on that side of the world, download the UK version. Once you have it installed.. on the bottom right hand side click on show internal utilities. That will bring up a another box on the bottom of the swiftkit page. Click on the little pac man tab (that's what it looks like to me). Type in your runescape name in the Nickname box. You don't have to use your runescape name, you can pick any name you want, but it's easier to remember if you use that one. In the channel box type this #spiritus Then click the Connect box ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That will bring up a white box with lots of stuff scrolling by kinda fast. That's just you connecting to irc. Only takes about 5 seconds. Now you are in our lobby for Spirit. You won't be able to join the members channel until you register you nickname. The reasons for registering is so that only you will be able to use that name in the future. If anyone else tries to log in using your name, irc won't let them and their name will be changed to unknown. To register your nickname type this in the chat box on sk. Make sure you use the slash. When you use the slash ( / ), that sends the message straight to irc so no one but you can see it. Type /ns register passhere passhere emailhere emailhere Please don't use your runescape password. Make one up but make sure you remember it. You'll need to use it the next time you log into sk. Also please make sure you use your real email address. You'll need to check it once you type that code. They'll send you another code that will need to be typed to confirm your registration. Once you do that, you are registered :D We'll give you access to our members channel #spirit. I know it sounds a bit confusing but I love being on irc. There's so much you can do and so many of our members use it. On a normal day there are 80-100 members in our channel and it's such fun sometimes joking around with them. Also irc isn't just for that. There are so many commands you can type to find out GE prices or how much xp till next level and just about anything you'd want to know about runescape. either you mispelled the word #spiritus or you were on a different server. Try it again and if you still come up with an empty channel, type this is the chat box /server lotus.ca.us.SwiftIRC.net Then after it connects, type /join #spiritus That should work and get you to us :) |
